Around Panay Island Day 7& 8 Iloilo (San Joaquin to Jaro, Iloilo)

Ilo-ilo (San Joaquin to Jaro)
Day 7

It’s raining last night so I moved my tent under one of the resort shed. I can’t sleep well compared to my usual stay on tent but still considered a good night because I felt safe. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to charging station so my phone got battery empty the next day. I went to reception area to charged then use my spare digital camera to shoot souvenir photos. I learned the trick how to take own photo by changing camera settings to a continuous shot. A new discovery for me. :-)
Simple things I learned and found out after 4 years having this camera.

I checked my bike before leaving, went for breakfast then finally bid goodbye around 8am. I stopped in Miag-ao Church for lunch, rest for few minutes then immediately continued cycling heading to Iloilo City hoping to catch up Charvi (my highschool friend and classmate). She will be my host in Iloilo to whom I am planning to leave my bike before going to Bacolod to attend Masskara Festival.
Banana-Q

I took few stops definitely not to rest because cycling was easy but just to have some moment in this beautiful beach along the main road. I bought Camote-Q from a girl selling around. Based on tone of conversations I can hear people speaking Kinaray-a here.

I arrived Jaro around 5:30pm so Charvi already left home to office. I meet Ken, her housemate whom also one of our highschool friend (Mai2x) sister in CPU Gate. After few conversations ,we took our dinner that Charvi prepared. As usual, I started to taking out all my stuff for laundry. I feel at home knowing I am with friends. Charvi arrived around 4am and we finally made some conversations regarding my trips and all those life changes, challenges, plans and of course diet. Well, I think it’s not just me but once you are reaching 30’s people are just normally get conscious with health regardless of background.

Total Km: 70km

Start: 7:30am

End: 5:30pm

Day 8 (Around Iloilo)
Charvi parents arrived the next day for their regular health check-up so we left them at home and spend time going around the city. She gave me a quick tour about what's new in the city. I regularly went to Panay particularly Iloilo from my previous work with fashion direct selling company both for field work and store visit of our business center so I am a bit curious how this city develops and grown. She let me taste Midas Coffee, a local Iloilo brand of coffee. I am not really a good critic for good coffee but as for me, Midas is reasonable in terms of price affordability and great ambiance. We stayed there for an hour and let time passed chatting about anything.

We left before 2pm, bought some grocery supplies then went back home. I went with Charvi around her office where I found a 24 hrs coffee shop/restaurant called  "Book Latte". I decided to stay there to wait for her. I spent my time reading a book about India, a place where I am planning to visit next year. After finishing my dinner, I felt sleepy a normal thing to me usually after finished eating heavy meal. :-) It’s 12midnight but there’s still a lot of few people inside the shop. Some seems doing their school work because they also offered free books for some members so it's like a typical coffee shop in Manila area where students converted coffee shop as their study area, others just simply staying there to spend time with friends until morning. I am planning to stay inside the coffee shop until 4am to treat Charvi for breakfast around another restaurant but my eyes started telling me to sleep so I took a taxi going home.
