Leaving Kruuhay Antique |
The sun's up. It's refreshing to wake up knowing you overcome your fears and it's now over. Our mental power was so strong that it can make or break fears. Since I am young, my life decisions had some patterns. My choice is always opposite of what people think will be better for me based on my personality. When I failed accountancy, I took marketing as a course. It's the first major brave thing I remembered that I did on my entire life considering that this involves a lot of presentation and social interaction. Whenever I did class presentation, I worry not about the topic but more on how I am going to deliver it without sweating and trembling voice which usually almost made me cry. I could no longer remembered how I survived each class but all I know I never escaped or avoided any single presentation no matter hard it was.

Still Big waves. |
After playing with waves, I went back to my accomodation for breakfast. I ate all the remaining banana, guavas and boiled eggs, clean my panniers and let it dry together with my wet clothes

Breakfast for today |
My next stop will be like 20km+ only for this day. Again, through the help of Bry strong data connection he sent me contacts of accomodation. LSDC in San Joaquin allows to set up a tent so I choose to stayed with them. I am carrying a tent but was not able to use it yet so its time to test my patience in setting up a tent. :-)
I left accomodation a bit late. There's some slope but it was okay. It's a pleasant cycling and finally reached the boundary between Antique and Iloilo. The end of Kruhaayy Country based on Antique geographical area. Kruhaay is a kinaray-a language widely spoken in Antique but as I continue cycling to San Joaquin, Iloilo I can hear people still speaking Karay-a. I stopped in a waiting shed when it rains and ate some snacks/lunch. There's tianggehan in the area as per my conversation with the couple. It happens at least once a week and they have carinderia there. For few days, I found myself passionately answering all people questions like a cyclo touring ambassador. Hehe. When asked if not bored alone, I answered them, "I am also surprised that I am not. May I share that I am not naturally talkative but most of my conversations with locals are so comfortable and energetic. In pinoy we call it feeling close. :-) I am also surprised how I answered questions and discuss life in general. It's not me back home but those answers are also based on my realizations for the past few days. And yes, they confirmed they still speak karay-a here.
I arrived around 3pm in LSDC, my first ever booked accommodation and first time to use tent that I carried all over the trip. I ordered boiled fish for dinner and they serve it with brown rice. At night, we talked about politics, culture, tourism business now and then, conservation and appreciating all Filipinos positive side. In the end, we all agreed life is way better here. To summarize, it's all about appreciation and being grateful for what you had.
